DISASTERS BY THE LATE GALE.
      ---------------------------
      The recent gale has been one of the most disasterous, both as to loss of life and property, that ever occurred on the chain of lakes. We give below a list of those reported by telegraph and otherwise, and in a fery few days should be better able to estimate the destruction of property.
      Lake Erie
      Propeller DAKOTA, 18 Mile Creek, loss of life 35.
      Stmr. JERSEY CITY, Port Dover, 17 lives lost.
      Schooner COMET, lost at Buffalo.
      FAIRWINDS, Point Mayew, ashore.
      Schr. MARCO POLO, Long Point, capsized.
      Schr. SACRAMENTO, Port Colborne, ashore.
      Schr. CUYAHOGA, Port Colborne, ashore.
      JEANNIE MACK, Port Colborne, ashore.
      Schr. WILLIAM MAXWELL, Sugar Loaf Point.
      FANNY GARDNER, lost, Buffalo.
      TORRENT, at Barcelona.
      KENOSHA, Lomg Point.
      SUNSHINE, Long Point.
      Brig CASTALIA, Point Maitland.
      Lake Huron & MIchigan
      Propeller WAUBASH VALLEY, location unknown.
      FOREST QUEEN, Bairey's Harbor.
      OGONTZ, Bailey's Harbor
      Schr. J.S. NEWHOUSE, Goderich.
      Schr. ENTERPRISE, Long Point.
      Schr. ARCTIC, Presque Isle.
      Schr. SCALAWAG, Port Stanley.
      CURTIS, Goderich.
      N.P. GOODELL, Blue Point, waterlogged.
      Schr. HURRICANE, St. Joseph
      Schr. ORION, near Muskegon.
