William Home (Schooner), aground, 28 Jun 1892

Description
Full Text

The schooner WILLIAM HOME, lumber laden, bound for Tonawanda, was taken in tow for Tonawanda this morning by the tug S.W. GEE. Owning to the heavy sea, her towline parted and she was blown on to the inside reef, below Horseshoe Reef and near the Reading coal trestle. The life-saving crew were summoned, and with some difficulty got a line from the schooner to the tug, and at 1 o'clock this afternoon the vessel was released and towed behind the breakwater, where she anchored, apparently uninjured.
