THE STEAMBARGE MACKINAW BURNED.
      Alpena, Oct. 28. - The steambarge MACKINAW, owned by Capt. William E. Rice, burned to the water's edge at Black River this morning. The freight was all taken off.

      The small steambarge MACKINAW was entirely destroyed by fire at Black River Lake Huron on Monday. She was light, having just unloaded a cargo of lumbermen supplies. The MACKINAW was owned by Capt. W.E. Rice and J. VanBuskirk of Port Huron, was valued at $12,500, and insured for $10,000. She register 164 net tons and was built in Detroit 24 years ago and rebuilt in 1880.
