The schooner CROSTHWAITE, with a full cargo of ore, is ashore on the beach near Ashtabula, where she is exposed to the northerly winds, with her hold full of water. She is valued at $23,000.

Record of Wrecks and Heavy Losses.
Schooner W.S. CROSTHWAITE, ore laden, dragged anchor, during a heavy blow and went onto the beach east of Ashtabula piers, on a sandy bottom. She is owned by Gilchrist and others, valued at $23,000, only three-eighths being insured. Capt. Benham went to the wreck, which was endangered by heavy weather, Wednesday night.
