Kittie M. Forbes (Propeller), aground, 6 Nov 1885
- Full Text
It is thought that if a wrecking expedition can reach the KITTIE M. FORBES, ashore on one of the Apostle Islands, before she pounds to pieces on the rocks, that she can be rescued and towed to a Lake Superior port before cold weather set in. She is reported to be in good condition, and a tug has been sent to the wreck from the Sault.

The KITTIE M. FORBES that went on the beach at Outer Island last Friday night was released Thursday and towed to Bayfield. The same evening she left for Washburn, where she will discharge the remainder of her cargo. The damage to the steamer, although comparatively light, will necessitate lying her up for the remainder of the season. She will probably be towed to Port Huron for repairs.
