The prop. YOUNG AMERICA became disabled and went ashore Monday noon, 2 miles west of Yate's pier, Lake Ontario. She had 150 passengers on board, but no lives were lost. The vessel will probably be got off with her cargo.

Yesterday a call was made for steam pumps from this city to aid in raising the stm. YOUNG AMERICA, ashore near Yates Pier, Lake Ontario.
      Later - Two pumps are now loaded on the tug GEO. MAYTHAM ready to start.

The tug GEORGE MAYTHAM, with two steam pumps, Saturday started to the relief of the prop. YOUNG AMERICA, ashore near Yates' Pier, Lake Ontario.

The attempts to raise the stm. YOUNG AMERICA, ashore at Yate's Pier, has proved unsuccessful. Four steam pumps failed to raise her. The tug MAYTHAM with 2 steam pumps from this port, is said to be enroute home.

The stm. YOUNG AMERICA has been stripped of everything moveable, and the present undertaking of raising abandoned. She lays good, but it is feared if permitted to remain where she is through the winter she would likely be broken up. We understand there will be an opportunity for some wrecking company to take the job of raising her.
