The steamer WAYNE left yesterday morning from this port with 6 canal boats in tow for the Milan Canal, all of which broke loose and went ashore about 1:00 P.M. yesterday, near Avon, 20 miles above this port. The names of the boats were GENEVA, ROANOKE, MOBILE, MADISON, MASSIN and COMMERCE. The first was insured for $600, the rest are a loss to the owners. The Capt. of the MADISON lost some $100, which was in his trunk. The steamboat succeeded in saving all the lives of the boat's crew.
