CARRIED AWAY THE GATES.
St. Catharines, Ont. Oct. 4. - The steamer LAKESIDE carried away all the gates of Lock No. 1, old canal, Saturday evening, and damaged herself considerably. Navigation will be stopped for about a week. The steamer will have to go on the drydock for repairs.
