The schooner F.W. GIFFORD sunk in Lake Michigan Thursday, but her crew was picked up by the steamer CHEBOYGAN.

The Chicago schooner F.W. GIFFORD strang a leak and foundered in the middle of lake Michigan off Point Betsey on October 21st. Her crew took to the yawl boat and after drifting around the lake for 3 hours were finally picked up by the schooner CITY OF CHEBOYGAN, bound for Chicago woth a argo of lumber.
