PENTLAND ASHORE OFF LONG BEACH
Runs Aground In Dense Fog Of Sunday Morning.
Port Colborne, May 7. - The wooden steamer PENTLAND, coal laden for Montreal, ran ashore this morning at Long Beach, about seven miles west of here. The fog was heavy at the time and the steamer plunged on full ahead. Tugs and lighterage outfits are at the steamer's assistance. The PENTLAND is owned by the Pentland Steamship Company of Cleveland and the master is Capt. Dixon.

RELEASE STEAMER PENTLAND; DAMAGED IN GROUNDING.
Port Colborne, May 8. - The steamer PENTLAND, which ran ashore at Long Beach in the fog of yesterday morning, was released this afternoon, after lightering about 400 tons of coal. The steamer is slightly damaged on her fore foot, and after repairs are made will proceed to Montreal.
