STEAMER ASHLEY HAS MISHAP.
When the master of the steamer J. S. ASHLEY reported having struck an obstruction 100 feet from the old west breakwater at Conneaut, Maj. P. S. Bone, United States engineer, had the area swept and discovered the obstruction was the wreck of the old car-ferry SHENANGO.
Maj. Bond announces the wreck will be removed as soon as possible, and in the meanwhile a red spar buoy will be placed outside the position of the obstruction.
