Sunshine (Barge), aground, 18 Sep 1872

As indicated by the storm signal on Wedensday evening the
weather through the night was stormy. On the lake it was
reported very severe, causing a heavy sea and more or less
disasters to the shipping. Prop. BUFFALO with barges SUNSHINE,
INDIANOLA and others, also 2 canal boats, were driven ashore at
the entrance of St. Clair flats, but thought not in serious
danger. Scow RUSH loading staves at Leamington, Michigan is
reported ashore.
