The schooner SWEDEN went ashore near Port Stanley in the gale last night.

      The schooner SWEDEN, which recently ran ashore above Port Stanley, and from which the young man Donnelly was drowned, will become a total loss.

Barque SWEDEN, of Kingston, Ont. and of 320 tons register and 6 years of age, while bound from Toledo, O., to Kingston, on October 8, 1877 stranded near Port Stanley by stress of weather and became a total loss. One life was lost. Amount of loss on vessel, $14,000. Loss on cargo $1,000.
