The revenue cutter ANDREW JOHNSON returned on Saturday evening from her expedition to render assistance to the schooner M. COURTRIGHT, reported waterlogged and abandoned near Racine. She found the vessel upon the beach, one mile and a half this side of Kenosha, a complete wreck. Her main-mast, rail, stanchions, bulwarks and stern were gone, The deck broken up and the hull split in two, fore and aft. The beach for miles was strewn with lumber from the wreck. The fore-mast, with standing rigging, running gear, and all of the canvas, appears to be in good shape. The sails were all snugly furled, with the exception of the gaff-topsail, which was flapping in the wind, having apparently broken from its lashings. One anchor was down, the other on the rail. Had both been dropped they would probably have kept the vessel from goin on the beach. The COURTRIGHT measures 276 tons burthen, was built at Erie in 1856, rated B 2, and worth about $7,000. She received new decks in 1871.
