Kingston, Aug. 29 - The stmr. JOHN S. PARSONS of Chaumont went ashore in Sherwin Bay. She was bound from Oswego to Chaumont with coal. The stranded boat is out a foot astern and lies in an exposed place. It is said the crew mistook Sherwin Bay for Chaumont Bay. Her cargo consists of about 300 tons of coal.
