Drake (Barge), leak, 18 Sep 1897

Description
Full Text

Charlevoix, Mich., Sept. 18 - The stm. M.C. NEFF and consort L.W. DRAKE, both lumber laden, which left here in the storm, were unable to breast the heavy seas and turned back to this harbor, finally getting in after great difficulty. In entering, the DRAKE struck the bottom, and is leaking badly. A steam pump does not keep the water down. A diver has been sent for to make temporary repairs.
