Wanderer (Schooner), U26239, overboard, 8 May 1874

Description
Full Text

The schr. WANDERER when off Dunkirk last night lost a man overboard. The ship was jibing, and the foreboom struck him knocking him into the sea. The captain heard his cries and put about and sent a boat to his assistance, but before it reached him he had sunk, the water being very cold. We could not learn the unfortunate man's name. The WANDERER was loaded with ties from Malden.
