A dispatch received here yesterday stating that the schr. THOMAS PARSONS had sunk in the Welland Canal at Thorold, and asking that a tug and pump be sent to her assistance. The tug INGRAM was sent out about 5:00 with a pump and other wrecking material. The PARSONS is owned by Hosea Rogers, of Rochester.

The schr. THOMAS PARSONS, which sunk in the Welland Canal on Wednesday cleared from Chicago on the 4th inst. with 19,025 bu. corn for Oswego. About 10,000 bu. were damaged, and brought to this city having been purchased by Buffalo parties. It is probable that the necessary repairs will be made here. She was unloading her damaged portion at the Evans elevator yesterday.
