Great Western (Steamboat), collision, 23 Aug 1843

Description
Full Text

The COLUMBUS came in from Detroit last evening with here cut-water and bowsprit carried away and otherwise much disfigured about the forward parts of the boat. It seems that she and the GREAT WESTERN came in collision on Saturday night, somewhere in the vicinity of Conneaut, by which both boats sustained injury.-- Buff. Comm. of the 23th.
