STEAMER BURNED.
The Familiar WILLIAM HARRISON Destroyed by Fire at Sour Spring Grove Yesterday.
The side-wheel excursion steamer,WILLIAM HARRISON, was destroyed by fire early yesterday morning at Sour Spring Grove. The boat was taken down the river Tuesday afternoon and tied up at the docks, it being the intention of the owners to make it her winter quarters. The fire was discovered about 3 o'clock, and the boat was burned to the water's edge. The boat was brought here five years ago from Harlem River, and has since been running to Niagara Falls. It was valued about $10,000.

Two tugs worked all day yesterday in an effort to float the big passenger steamer CITY OF GRAND RAPIDS, ashore on Crystal Island in the Erie Basin, but were unsuccessful. The forward part of the boat is resting on the hulk of the excursion steamer WILLIAM HARRISON, which was burned and sunk several years ago, and it is now believed that before the GRAND RAPIDS can be hauled off into deep water, divers may have to be sent down into the Basin to remove the obstruction. If the boat is floated she will be used in the passenger business this summer at Cleveland.
