The Toronto Mail says: "Vessel owners and captains are wanting to know when the wreck of the schooner TRENTON is going to be removed from Presque Isle Harbor. The fall gales will soon be coming on, and the mouth of the only harbor on the north shore, between this and South Bay, is rendered almost unavailable.."

The schooner PERSIA is engaged in the work of unloading the cargo of the TRENTON, that was sunk last fall in the Presque Isle channel into the Bay of Quinte.

Schooner TRENTON, built 1864 at Trenton by J. Simpson, foundered in 18 feet of water, by striking bottom, while anchored near Presuqe Isle Point, Lake Ontario, November 22, 1879. She was a two masted, square stern schooner of 204 tons. 123.0 x 25.0 x 9.3. She was abandoned as a total loss within Presqu'ile Bay. One report has her as blocking the entrance to the Bay.
