STEEL, TRUST STEAMER IS HARD AGROUND.
By the breaking of her steering gear in the St. Clair river yesterday, the steamer BRITON of the Steel Trust fleet sheered and ran hard aground in the sand bar at the foot of Fawn Island. The BRITON was bound up and was going at a good speed when she struck, running out two feet forward and eight feet aft. As the vessel is resting midway on the bar, it will be necessary to dredge her off.
