FIRE ON A STEAMER. -- The propeller MARQUETTE caught fire in the hold just as she reached Detroit Thursday morning. By the strenuous efforts of the city fire department the vessel was saved from utter destruction. During the fire, the second mate, Geo. W. Miller, of Huron Station, on the Toledo & Detroit Road, was killed, as supposed by falling into the hold on the vessel.
