The propeller IRA H. OWEN and the steel freighter HENRY W. OLIVER were in collision in St. Marys River yesterday. The former boat being so badly damaged that she had to be beached immediately in order to prevent her sinking in deep water. The boats were passing each other. The OWEN bound up with coal and the OLIVER bound down with ore, and the accident was caused by a confusion of passing signals at a point opposite Detour.

The license of Captain George C. Graham has been revoked for four months for negligence in handling the steamer IRA H. OWEN when she collided with the steamer HENRY W. OLIVER last Fall.
