Marine Disasters, Lake Huron. -- The schooner CONQUEST, upward bound, ran back to the river with the loss of her jibboom, foretopmast, and with some damage in her sails. In coming into the river she collided with the schooner CLIPPER CITY, losing her bulwarks, stauncheons and rail. The CLIPPER CITY sustained only slight damage.

Marine Disasters- The Detroit papers give the following further disasters of the late gale:
"All reports concur in representing the late gales on the Upper Lakes as one of remarkable violence. Accounts of its effects continue to reach us. So far, we are happy to state, that no news has transpired of any disaster attended with loss of life.
The schooner CONQUEST, upward bound, ran back to the river with the loss of her jibboom foretopmast, and with some damage to her sails. In coming into the river she colidied with the schooner CLIPPER CITY, losing her bulwarks, stanebeons and rail. The CLIPPER CITY sustained only slight damage.
The above disasters were all on Lake Huron.

The schr. CONQUEST, of Sheboygan, encountered the storm on Lake Huron, and lost the most of her canvas, but finally succeeded in reaching Port Huron, where she now lies awaiting repairs.

Schooner CLIPPER CITY. U. S. No. 4347. Of 126 tons gross. Built Manitowoc, 1854 by S. Bates. 101.7 27.8 x 7.5. Sunk, waterlogged in branch of Chicago River and abandoned in 1885.
