S. J. Tilden (Schooner), U23761, lost rudder, 9 Oct 1872

Description
Full Text

Sundry Marine.- The steamer MARINE CITY, Capt. Conner, from Mackinaw and way landings, arrived yesterday. The schooner S. J. TILDEN carried away her rudder stock on Lake Michigan, but managed to reach Beaver Island and afterwards Escanaba for repairs. The schooner NED ROBINSON, now three weeks ashore at Leamington, has been comparatively land-locked, no effort having been made toward getting her afloat. The past few days has made business lively for marine inspectors, their services being actively sought for at various points around the lakes.
