If the steamer CADILLAC, Capt. Simms, master, which grounded on Starve Island yesterday, was running wide open, she might as well get a whole new bottom and be done with it.

Cleveland, O., May 14. -- The steel steamer CADILLAC, bound from Chicago to Sandusky with a cargo of grain, went ashore on Starve Island Reef last night. The steamer is resting on a large bowlder and the bottom is no doubt badly damaged.

The steamer CADILLAC was released from Starve Island yesterday after lightering 8,000 bushels of her cargo. She put into Sandusky where she will discharge her cargo, then go to Cleveland for repairs.

TWO WEEKS TO REPAIR THE CADILLAC.
Cleveland, May 18. -- The steamer CADILLAC, which was on Starve Island Reef, was placed in dry-dock today. It will take at least two weeks to make repairs. Forty bottom plates are damaged, and most of them cannot be used again. Her forefoot is gone and she will have to have a new stem.
