Philadelphia (Propeller), aground, 27 Sep 1872

From the St. Claire Flats.- Superintendent W. H. Motts writes us from the above place and states that the large iron propeller PHILADELPHIA, deep loaded, is aground in the canal, and by the working of her wheel has thrown up sand bars. This, in connection with the low stage of water, has reduced the depth in the canal to eleven feet six inches.
