- Full Text
DISASTER . -- Quite a serious disaster happened to the side-wheel tug EMERALD, on Thursday, while on her way up the St. Clair River, with a tow of four vessels. Her connecting rod broke, which resulted in the breaking nearly of her entire machinery, which will lay her up several days for repairs. She was towed to this port by the steamer FOX. --- Detroit Free Press.
