Description
Full Text

ASHORE AND OFF AGAIN. -- The schooner ARAB, with a cargo of lumber from Detroit, got on the Gull Island Reef, Saturday. She lost her rudder and big anchor, and succeeded in getting off, and managed to keep on her way. She was for two hours in sight of the harbor, with a signal of distress flying, but none of the masters of tugs took any notice of her. She drifted along, and when about abreast of the breakwater, and certain to go ashore, the propeller PITTSBURG, Captain Beckwith, came along; and at considerable risk; with a heavy sea running, Capt. B. made fast to her, and towed her safely into port. So says the Express.
