* "Year's Marine Losses -- Schr. Marysburg a total loss on the beach at Port Union, below Toronto, Oct. 28th."
      British Whig, (Kingston)
      Nov. 26, 1881

Toronto Globe. -- The J. WESLEY arrived yesterday with eighty tons of coal which had been transferred from the MARYSBURG, which went ashore at Port Union the day before. The captain states that the vessel is partly filled with water, and that the deck and starboard side of the schooner are badly wrecked. An attempt to start a pump in her failed, and the MAPLE LEAF was chartered to take part of her cargo to Toronto. Mr. Burns, to whom the cargo is consigned, states that he will not lose a cent, as both the vessel and cargo are heavily insured in an Oswego company. It is expected that she would be got off last night.

The schooner MARYSBURG, it is said, has been abandoned. If possible the cargo will be taken out, but the vessel is no longer of consequence to make efforts to save her.
