One of the unknown deck hands was a new deck hand,16 year old Dougal Cameron.
You can find confirmation of this in the book Beautiful Stoney Keppel, page 305, top left. Im a decendent of his mother, Harriet McMillan, Her first husband was George Mckay who drowned abt. 1865. They had two children. She then married her her cousin Dan Cameron.
If anyone knows how to add his name to the list of lost please do.

While waiting for his son to arrive from Owen Sound aboard Wiarton Belle, Roderick and Mary witnessed the disappearance of the Jane Miller between White Cloud Island and Big Bay during a snowstorm. At about 9 o'clock, the weather was deteriorating, and the ships lights suddenly could no longer be seen. It was later reported the ship had not arrived at Spencer's Landing, and the cargo of cordwood was still piled on the dock. Neither did it reach her final destination in Wiarton. None of the 27 men aboard were ever found. 25 Nov 1881
