Detroit Free Press:-- Late on Thursday night a severe squall passed over the city, doing considerable damage. The tug McCLELLAN and the schooner JENNIE MATTHEWS were driven aground on Fighting Island, and the steambarge JENNESS went on about a mile below them. The McCLELLAN worked herself off, the JENNESS was pulled off by the tug HALL, but the JENNIE MATTHEWS was still on yesterday and is reported three feet out. She will require to be lightered off.
