Description

COLLISION. -- The schooner MAGGIE, while sailing down the river yesterday and near the head of Fighting Island, was run into by the schooner ORIENTAL, in tow of the tug E. R. WARD, Jr. The MAGGIE was bound for Point au Pelee Island, but on account of the collision was obliged to return to this port to receive repairs. Her mainsail, topenlif and davits were carried away by the ORIENTAL. The tug is supposed to be in the blame, and, if so, will no doubt settle the claim, which will probably not exceed $50. --- Detroit Post.
