The uninsured barge J. F. WARMER, lumber laden, waterlogged at Alpena yesterday. Heavy seas washed over her the entire day and last night the vessel broke in two. She is a total loss.

The cargo of the barge WARNER, reported lost on Lake Huron, is insured in the agencies handled by Smith, Davis & Co.

The steambarge WILLIAM COWIE caught fire near Bay City Sunday and burned to the water's edge. The crew escaped but lost all their personal property. The COWIE was built in 1868 at Marine City and insured for $7,000. She was owned by Charles C. Henning and John Schaltberger of Saginaw who lost the barge WARNER in Thunder Bay without insurance.
