Chicago, Oct. 7. -- Telegrams to underwriters state that the steamer NAHANT, which collided with the whaleback PILLSBURY in Straits yesterday is at Duncan Bay full of water. She was only kept afloat long enough to reach shore in tow of the tug FAVORITE.
      Also
Cheboygan, Oct. 7. -- The whaleback PILLSBURY, with flour from Gladstone to Buffalo, and steamer NAHANT, laden with iron ore from Escanaba, collided off Poe's Reef. The NAHANT was severely damaged and is leaking badly. The FAVORITE is towing her to a port of repair.
