Detroit, Mich., July 3. -- The schooner JOHN SCHUETTE of Toledo was sunk this evening off the shipyard of the Great Lakes Engineering Works in collision with the steamer ALFRED MITCHELL of Duluth.
The schooner's crew escaped in a yawl boat. The SCHUETTE lies in deep water with part of her spar showing. The cause of the collision has not been definately ascertained. There was a heavy squall at the time.

BLASTING OUT WRECK.
Dynamiters are at work blasting out the wreck of the schooner SCHUETTE near the Ecorse plant of the Great Lakes Engineering Works. She was sunk a few days ago by the steamer ALFRED MITCHELL and has since lain in the ship channel.
