September 3, 1901. -- Canadian steamer JOHN J. LONG burned in Georgian Bay.

The JOHN J. LONG was a Mail Steamer which burned to the waterline at the dock at Meldrum Bay, she was owned and operated by Capt. H. Cleveland. The ship was insured for $6,000.
