A report from Port Huron says the propeller NEWAGO is ashore on Devil's Island, Georgian Bay. The vessel has a cargo of coal and struck while fighting in a blinding snowstorm. The vessel is in an exposed position, but the crew is safe.

      The steamer NEWAYGO wrecked in Georgian Bay is in bad shape. She lies on Devil's Shoal, 5 miles from Tobermory.

A message was received at Port Huron yesterday from the captain of the propeller NEWAGO, wrecked in Georgian Bay, stating that the vessel is full of water and in bad shape. The boat is exposed to the storms. The propeller NELSON MILLS will go to the wreck with wrecking apparatus as soon as the weather permits.

The propeller NEWAYGO, stranded in Georgian Bay, has been abandoned as a total loss. The wrecker FAVORITE which went to save the boat, has returned to Cheboygan.
