Wrecks and Heavy Losses.
Four lumber carriers driven ashore within the past few days may be released, but they will all suffer considerable damage. Three of them, the ARAXES and consorts DRAKE and AMERICAN GIANT, went on at Point aux Barques, Lake Huron, Monday night. The fourth is the barge YANKEE, which is on Rocky Mountain Point, Beaver Island, Lake Michigan. The YANKEE was bound for Chicago with the barges BAHAMA and JUPITER, in tow of the propeller NELSON MILLS. They were caught in a blow and all of them suffered some loss but the Yankee was most unfortunate.
