CHEBOYGAN.---The United States lighthouse tender DAHLIA is hard aground on the shore of lake Huron, near Presqu'Isle. The forest fires and the attendant dense smoke is the cause of the DAHLIA's grounding. She is injured, but particulars as to the extent of the damage are meager. The wrecker LEVIATHAN left early Tuesday morning and will endeavor to release her.

The Government steamer DAHLIA is reported to have struck the wreck of the KATE MOFFAT in the vicinity of Presqu'Isle Sunday. The MOFFAT burned to the water's edge and sank there three years ago and has since been a dangerous obstruction. She will no doubt be located and removed for the benefit of shipping.

It is said that the U. S. Lighthouse tender struck the wreck of the burned tug KATE MOFFAT in the channel near Presqu'Isle, where she grounded recently, and suffered some damage. It would be well if the Government would take some cognizance of this fact and have the wreck removed by one of the revenue cutters.
