Preparations by Marine City Vessel Men - Appointments

Special to the Detroit Post.

MARINE CITY, April 16. - Vessels are preparing to resume business. During the winter considerable repairs have been made and they will start out in good condition and well painted.

The steamers City of New Baltimore and Mary will run as last year. The steamer Pick-up will ply between St. Clair and Detroit, on alternate days with the City of New Baltimore. The route takes in New Baltimore on the west side of lake St. Clair and is run three times a week.

Messrs. Morley & Co.'s new propeller, to be christened the New Orleans, is receiving her finishing touches. She is probably the largest carrier ever built here. Her dimensions are: Length, 250 feet; beam, 38 feet; depth, 22 feet. It is a double decker and over 2,000 tons burthen. She is very strongly constructed and diagonally strapped with iron . She has a large cabin aft, consisting of state rooms, two guest chambers, a sitting room, a kitchen, pantry and dining room. The latter is made of panels made of butternut and cherry woods.

The barge Spademan has been sold by Capt. Philip Rice and others to Mat and Andrew Scott.

The propeller Robert Holland, which was lying near the Wesbrook fire on the night of the 14th, was badly scorched, but was removed in time to escape the conflagration.

The following are the names of the vessels which moored here for the winter, and their officers, as near as can be ascertained, for the coming season:
