- Full Text
Leland, Mich., Nov. 14 -- The schooner H.D. MOORE, Captain Byrne, is ashore about twenty miles from Leland. The gale struck here Sunday, the wind veering around, prevented her from reaching the west shore. She finally reached South Manitou, the wind constantly increasing, until she dragged anchor and was blown across. At 7 o'clock her anchors parted, and the Captain set sail and she was blown ashore about 8 p. m. on the 13th. The Captain and crew of six are all safe.

Northport, Mich., Nov. 21. - We got the schooner H.B. MOORE off at 9 this morning, after throwing overboard nearly all the cargo. The vessel is not leaking much, and not much damaged. Both anchors and chains lost; got here at 5:50, and I leave at once with the tug for Elk Rapids to release the schooner WATERTOWN. - Inter Ocean.
