St. Ignace, Mich., Dec. 20 -- The steamer ALGOMAH ran ashore near here tonight in a thick snowstorm.
The ALGOMAH is a large ferry steamer, fitted up especially for hard weather and ice. She measures 360 tons. She was built at Detroit by the Detroit Drydock Company in 1881. She rates A 1 and is valued at $45,000. She is owned by the Mackinaw Transportation Company.
