The steamer MIDLAND QUEEN and the Canadian Atlantic Liner OTTAWA, bound down, collided off Cariboo Island, Lake Superior, Tuesday night in the heavy fog. Several plates above and below the water line on the starboard quarter of the OTTAWA were damaged. She went to Sault Ste. Marie, where an examination will be made, although she is not leaking. The MIDLAND QUEEN sustained serious injury to her stem, which is badly twisted. Several plates are cracked and she will have to go into drydoc for repairs.
