The steamer NELSON MILLS sunk last week in the St. Clair River by collision with the steamer MILWAUKEE, has been abandoned as a total loss.

      FINE IMPOSED ON STEAMER MILLS.
      Detroit, Sept. 27. -- In addition to the recent suspension of Mate Reuben Gowling and Capt. Warwick of the steamer J.E. MILLS [sic] recently sunk in the St. Clair River by collision with the steamer MILWAUkEE, a fine of $700 has been imposed on the boat by the Collector of Custons at Port Huron. As the boat is a total loss, the chance of the government to collect the fine is not bright.
