Duluth with the ALOHA, MEAD and MEDIATOR in tow. The boats went ashore above Portage Lake canal and the KALASKA was only able to get the ALOHA afloat. Assistance was promptly sent. There will be some salvage on the lumber cargoes of the schooners MEAD and MEDIATOR, but there is small chance of saving either of the boats. The
life-savers rescued the crews.
