- Full Text
The schooner MAGGIE. -- The tug WELLINGTON returned to port on Sunday after a visit to the schooner MAGGIE, which sunk near Point Peter in the recent gale, having on board a cargo of barley, bound for Oswego. The WELLINGTON stripped the vessel of her rigging &c., and brought down a part of the damaged grain, which she discharged yeaterday at Morton's. The tug returned immediately to the vessel and it is thought will succeed in towing her off. Two steam pumps have arrived at the vessel from Oswego and Messrs. Calvin & Breck's pumps go up with the tug. -- Kingston Whig
The steamer HERCULES returned to this port early this morning with the steam pumps which were obtained from Smith & Post. The Captain reports that the MAGGIE cannot be got off, and she has therefor been abandoned. -- Oswego Times.
