Maritime History of the Great Lakes

(Brig), sunk, 1 Sep 1854

Description
Full Text

We are informed by Mr. Isaac Coffin that a vessel supposed to be a large Brig, has sunk about six miles below Erie, and about the same distance out from the mouth of Walnut Creek. The spars were brought ashore by Capt. Downs, and it is now difficult to ascertain the exact position of the sunken vessel. What her name is or when she went down remains a mystery.
