Maritime History of the Great Lakes

Cuba (Schooner), U4576, abandoned, 1896

Description
Full Text

The hull of the schooner CUBA lies upon the bottom of the Kinnickinnic river, full of water, in such shape to partially obstruct navigation. The hulk ought to be towed out into the lake and sunk; but although the Board of Public Works were notified to that effect a year ago no steps have been taken in the matter further than to make inquiries for an owner. The CUBA was built at Milan in 1856 by E, Bates and measures 213 net tons.
